
The Meteorological Department Kashmir on Thursday said isolated higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir are likely to receive brief spell of very light snow from December 2-3.
It predicted further dip in maximum and minimum temperatures by 1-2°C from November 22 onwards.
The MeT official said the ongoing dry weather spell is likely to continue till December 1.
“From December 2-3 there is a possibility of cloudy weather towards afternoon with prediction of brief spell of very light snow over isolated higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir. The weather will likely remain dry afterwards till December 10,” he said.
“Shallow to moderate fog is likely to continue at many places of Kashmir division and isolated places of Jammu as well. Also there will be further fall in both maximum and minimum temperatures by 1-2°C after November 22 onwards,” the MeT official sai

Srinagar, Nov 20: Security forces have busted a narco-terror module in Kupwara district by arresting a father-son duo.
“Acting on specific information regarding the presence of a commercial quantity of contraband and illegal arms and ammunition, a case was registered under various sections of the NDPS Act, UA(P) Act, and Arms Act,” a police official said.
He said two “hybrid terrorists” — Abdul Lateef, 53, and his son, Shahnawaz Khan, 23, residents of Puthwari in Nowgam area of Handwara, were arrested during the joint operation by police and CRPF.
The official said the duo was actively involved in running a narco-terror network in the area.
Recoveries made so far include a pistol with seven rounds, and heroin-like contraband weighing approximately 890 grams.
