
The Inter-District UT Level Athletic Meet 2025, organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports J&K and hosted by the District Youth Services & Sports Office Srinagar, concluded today at the University of Kashmir.
All districts of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir participated, with a strong turnout of 350 young athletes competing in the U/14 and U/17 girls’ categories.
Young athletes showcased exceptional skills, techniques, and enthusiasm in various track and field events, including running, jumping, and throwing, held at the university’s athletic tracks.
The well-designed meet witnessed an overwhelming response from budding sportspersons, many of whom are striving for future national-level competitions.
Jammu District emerged as the overall champion in the U/17 age group, while Ganderbal District secured the top position in the U/14 age group.
Jammu athletes collectively bagged 23 medals across different events.
Nishita Sharma, a Class 11 student from Jammu, was declared the Best Athlete, winning four gold medals in various running events.
The award ceremony was graced by Nodal Officer Shabir Ahmad Mir, Overall Incharge Barkat Ali Mir, Overall Incharge Activities Fayaz Ahmad Mir, and technical staff and escort teachers from DYSSO Srinagar.
Mir Fayaz appreciated the dedicated efforts of technical staff, convenors, and media personnel in ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.
