The UT Government is making efforts to promote sports, while various sports tournaments are being organized in the valley and under the same umbrella, Youth Services and Sports Budgam is also hosting major tournaments from various inter district to UT level.The UT level Cricket Tournament under the U-14 boys category has started at 04 venues in Budgam district of Central Kashmir and its Inaugural Ceremony was held at the Sports Stadium Budgam where players from 10 districts are participating.Chief Planning Officer Budgam Javed Ahmed Najar, who was the Special Guest on the occasion, inaugurated the tournament while the activity incharge of the District Sports Office was also present.However, many senior officials of the department were also present at the inaugural ceremony while the boys were urged to show their talent in sports competitions and bring glory to the district.

In the Opening match, the competition between Samba district and Anantnag district was played, in which Anantnag won.It is to be noted that the tournament will continue till the 8th of this month in 04 grounds of the district, including Sports Stadium Charar Sharief, Sports Stadium Budgam, Degree College Ground Charar Sharief and Eidgah Ground Sheikhpora.It is to be remembered that the District Sports Office Budgam had hired several staff to organize the said tournament in a smooth manner, while the tournament is being played in the presence of District Sports Officer Ghulam Hassan Lone.
