Tirap, Aug 14: Assam Rifles organised a poster-making competition at Kasturba Gandhi Bal Vidyalaya, Barap, Noglo, in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh on August 12 to commemorate 150 years of Vande Mataram.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 45 students, including 20 boys and 25 girls, who showcased their creativity and patriotic spirit through colourful and thought-provoking posters.
The students used their artwork to highlight themes of national unity, patriotism, pride and India's rich cultural heritage, while reflecting on the enduring significance of Vande Mataram in the country's history.
The competition provided students with a creative platform to learn about and express their understanding of India's national identity and the historical legacy associated with the iconic patriotic song.
The initiative also encouraged young participants to connect with India's cultural and historical traditions through art and creative expression. Their enthusiastic participation reflected the interest of the younger generation in activities promoting national pride and unity.
At the conclusion of the programme, prizes were distributed among the participants in recognition of their efforts and creative contributions. Refreshments were also provided to the students.
The event formed part of Assam Rifles' outreach activities aimed at engaging youth through educational and cultural programmes and fostering values of unity, creativity, patriotism and responsible citizenship.
The celebration of 150 years of Vande Mataram provided an opportunity for the students to explore the song's enduring place in India's national consciousness while expressing their patriotic sentiments through art.
