Srinagar, Mar 13: Several areas of Srinagar are facing acute water scarcity, causing serious inconvenience to residents during the holy month of Ramadan. The shortage has made it difficult for families to manage daily household needs, especially during sehri and iftar times.
Locals from various neighborhoods complained that water supply has remained irregular, with some areas receiving little to no water for days. Residents said they are forced to rely on private water tankers or store water whenever it becomes available.
The problem has added to the hardships of people observing fasts, as water is essential for cooking, cleaning, and other household chores during Ramadan. Many residents urged the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to ensure a regular water supply.
People have appealed to the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department to address the issue on priority so that residents do not suffer further during the sacred month.
