District Development Council (DDC) Chairman Bharat Bhushan, MLA North Jammu Sham Lal Sharma, Ex-PRI Members, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Jammu, Shazada Noor Ul Ain, Block Development Officer Bhalwal Dr.Sunil Sharma and officials of RD&PR, ICDS, NRLM (UMEED) besides prominent figures and huge gathering of locals of Block Bhalwal participated in the event.
A highlight of the event was the e-inauguration of various watershed developmental works aimed at improving local soil and water conservation practices. The dignitaries addressed the gathering, emphasizing the critical importance of watershed management. They highlighted that effective watershed development is essential for improving soil moisture, enhancing agricultural productivity, and ensuring sustainable livelihoods for rural communities.
This van has traversed approximately 2,400 km across Jammu and Kashmir, targeted over 500,000 residents through interactive workshops, community activities, and awareness drives. The campaign has today culminated in Jammu, showcasing cutting-edge techniques in watershed conservation, soil health enhancement, and rainwater harvesting.

DC Poonch assesses progress in Agricultural, allied sector schemes
POONCH, MARCH 02: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal today held a comprehensive review of agriculture and allied sectors. He also reviewed the progress of credit linked schemes of the agriculture sector.
During the meeting, the DDC assessed the progress of several key initiatives, including Holistic Agriculture Development Plan (HADP) Credit, Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Scheme Current status and Smart Card distribution, PM Kisan Scheme overall progress, Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME), Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF), Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF), Horticulture Development Plan (HDP), National Livestock Mission (NLM) and PM Fasal Bima Yojana (PM FBY)
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the urgency of achieving targets for these schemes, directing all Executing Officers to meet their respective deadlines by March 10.
The DC called upon the banks to expedite the issuance of Smart Cards to all Kisan Credit Card (KCC) holders, highlighting the importance of timely access to financial support for farmers.
Additionally, the DC instructed officers to create informative graphics for schemes such as PM FBY and NLM. This initiative aims to raise awareness among farmers about the various benefits and opportunities available through these programs, ensuring they can take full advantage of the support provided by the government.
