The government has extended winter vacation in all the schools across the Union territory due to wet weather conditions.
“The schools upto higher secondary level will now reopen on 7th March 2025,” Education Minister Sakina Itoo posted on X.
In an order , the Education department said the winter vacations for all Government and Private Schools upto higher secondary level of Kashmir and winter zone(s) of Jammu Division are extended upto March 6.
"The schools shall now reopen on March 7 instead of March 1, 2025,” read the order.
The decision to extend the holidays follows three days of snowfall and rainfall across various parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
