Shopian, Aug 18: A woman died while her son sustained minor injuries after the scooty they were travelling on skidded off the road at Amerbugh in the Imamsahib area of Shopian district on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Saja Banoo, wife of Ghulam Qadir Naikoo, a resident of Kharwara. She was travelling as a pillion rider on the scooty being driven by her son, Shakeel Ahmad Naikoo.
According to preliminary information, the scooty skidded off the road at Amerbugh, resulting in the accident.
Saja Banoo sustained critical injuries and died at the spot, while Shakeel Ahmad Naikoo suffered minor injuries.
