Srinagar, Sep 15: The Khelo India ASMITA Women’s Wushu League Srinagar 2026 and District Wushu Championship Srinagar 2026 concluded successfully at the Shri Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex.

Organised by the District Wushu Association Srinagar, the events witnessed enthusiastic participation from women and young athletes across the district, providing them a platform to showcase their skills and compete at district and league levels.
The closing ceremony was attended by Chief Guest Nighat Amaan, SSP, who appreciated the organisers, coaches and athletes for promoting Wushu, particularly among women and youth.
Manager Indoor Sports Complex Mohammad Iqbal and several other sports personalities, officials and dignitaries also attended the ceremony, including international Wushu medallist Sadiya.
The District Wushu Association thanked the J&K Sports Council, Wushu Association of J&K and the Government of India for their continued support, particularly through the Khelo India ASMITA initiative aimed at creating greater opportunities for women athletes.
The association also acknowledged the contribution of coaches, officials, technical staff, volunteers, participating clubs, educational institutions, parents and players in making the events successful.
Joint Secretary Mohammad Maqsood Rather delivered the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, with special appreciation for parents for their continued encouragement and support to young athletes.
The successful conclusion of the two events is expected to further strengthen Wushu at the grassroots level and encourage greater participation of women and young athletes in competitive sports.
