Young Rising Stars win Kupwara cricket championship

The vibrant District Kupwara Tennis Ball Cricket Championship 2025 concluded today at the iconic Galizoo Stadium, wrapping up two days of electrifying cricketing action, roaring crowds, and unforgettable sporting moments. The event brought together the finest young talents from across Kupwara, setting the perfect stage for a festival of cricket filled with energy, emotion, and entertainment.

The grand finale was nothing short of a nail-biter as Team Young Rising Stars locked horns with United Sports Kupwara in a clash that kept the audience on the edge of their seats till the last over. With nerves of steel and team spirit shining through, Young Rising Stars clinched the Championship Trophy, while United Sports Kupwara put up a valiant fight to finish as Runners-Up.
The Closing Ceremony added even more sparkle to the evening. The Chief Guest, Mr. Aadil Manzoor, Captain of Team India Ice Stock Sport, congratulated the winners and lauded the spirit of Kupwara’s youth. In his inspiring address, he said, “Kupwara is not just known for its beauty, but for its boundless sporting talent. Our youth are capable of conquering every arena, from cricket to international ice stock and martial arts — all they need is opportunity and encouragement.”
The event was further graced by Ms. Neelofar, Secretary General, District Kupwara Tennis Ball Cricket Association, as Guest of Honour, who expressed pride in the successful conduct of the tournament. She appreciated the enthusiastic participation of teams and emphasized that Kupwara’s sporting culture is rising stronger than ever.
Adding a unique sporting flavor to the event, Zakir Hussain and Sozan Nazir, both National Medalists in Pencak Silat, were also present as Guests of Honour. Their presence highlighted the district’s growing influence across multiple sports disciplines. They encouraged young athletes to dream big and stay disciplined, remarking that “Kupwara’s youth have the potential to shine not just in J&K but across the nation.”
As the sun set behind the Galizoo hills, the cheers of victory, the spirit of fair play, and the promise of a brighter sporting future echoed across the stadium. The championship not only celebrated cricket but also symbolized Kupwara’s unstoppable passion for sports and youth empowerment
