Peren, May 16: The Assam Rifles under Spear Corps, in collaboration with Arpan Aid Foundation, organised a youth-focused seminar in Peren and Athibung areas of Nagaland to create awareness about career opportunities in the hospitality sector, along with training and job placement pathways.
The seminar aimed at guiding local youth towards skill-based employment avenues in the fast-growing hospitality industry, including hotels, tourism services, food and beverage management, front office operations, and allied service sectors. Resource persons from Arpan Aid Foundation briefed participants on industry requirements, skill development programmes, and certification courses that can improve employability in national and international markets.
Officials said the initiative was part of broader efforts to promote livelihood opportunities among young people in the region by connecting them with structured vocational training and employment networks. The programme also highlighted the importance of soft skills, communication abilities, and professional discipline required for success in the hospitality sector.
Participants were informed about various government and private sector schemes supporting skill development and job placement, along with internship opportunities that can provide hands-on experience in hospitality services. Interactive sessions allowed youths to clarify doubts regarding career progression, training duration, and eligibility criteria.
Assam Rifles officials reiterated their commitment to supporting community development initiatives alongside security responsibilities. They said such outreach programmes are designed to empower local youth by providing them with information, guidance, and access to sustainable livelihood options.
The seminar witnessed active participation from young attendees, who expressed interest in pursuing hospitality-related careers, particularly in tourism-driven employment sectors. Organisers stated that similar awareness programmes would continue in other parts of Nagaland to further expand opportunities for skill development and employment generation.
