
Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K, Zone Rainawari today inaugurated its Inter-School Zonal level activities at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Nowhatta, marking the beginning of a series of sporting events for young talents in the region.
The opening day witnessed enthusiastic participation from Under 14 Year girls representing 18 government and private educational institutions. The students showcased their skills and competitive spirit in the Table Tennis, Badminton, and Chess competitions.
The event was declared open by Madam Shaista Afshana, Vice Principal of GHSS Nowhatta, along with Madam Eidi Sharif Zahgeer, Senior Lecturer at GHSS Nowhatta, Mr. Muzamil Ahmad, Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO) Rainawari, and the dedicated field staff of Zone Rainawari. Adding a significant social message to the sporting event, a pledge against drug abuse was also administered during the opening ceremony, emphasizing the importance of a healthy and drug-free lifestyle among the young participants.
Muzamil Ahmad (ZPEO Rainawari) expressed his gratitude to GHSS Nowhatta for their invaluable support and cooperation in facilitating the smooth conduct of the tournaments. He conveyed his optimism for increased participation in the upcoming events, highlighting the commitment of ZPEO Rainawari to promote sports and healthy competition among students.
