Srinagar, Aug 28: Newly appointed Inspector General of Police Kashmir Sujit Kumar on Friday assured the people that the Zonal Police would remain accessible to them and continue working for their safety and welfare.
Speaking to reporters, Kumar urged people to cooperate with the police in carrying out their responsibilities and maintaining peace across the Kashmir Valley.
“I want to assure the people that the Zonal Police is always there for you. People should also cooperate with us. We are for the people,” the IGP Kashmir said.
Kumar assumed charge as IGP Kashmir on Thursday following a reshuffle in the senior police hierarchy of Jammu and Kashmir.
He emphasised the importance of public cooperation in strengthening policing and maintaining peace and security across the Valley.
