NIA Launches Probe Into Funding of Militants in Kashmir

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched a probe into funds flowing in for stone pelters from Kashmir, a couple of days after a special investigative report by India Today exposed how separatist leaders were ready to bleed the Valley for money.

The NIA has asked India Today to provide all CDs containing visuals of the sting operation and other details about the report. A separate team of the NIA has already reached Srinagar. The team is likely to quiz Hurriyat leaders who appeared in India Today’s Operation Villians of the Valley.

India Today had come up with clinching evidence of Pakistan’s state and non-state actors, including Hafiz Saeed, choreographing anarchy through their agents in the Kashmir Valley.

Several top Kashmiri separatists were caught on camera confessing to receiving funds from across the border.

The sting operation, which was aired on Tuesday, showed Hurriyat’s Provincial President (Geelani Faction) Naeem Khan admitting on camera that Pakistan is funding the violence in Kashmir Valley.
