No reports of new moon sightings for Islamic month of Dhul-Hijjah: Saudi’s top court
Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court announced that there were no reported sightings of the new moon for the Islamic month of Dhul-Hijjah, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The court had earlier asked people to report if they saw the crescent of the new moon on Monday evening, the 29th of the month of Dhul-Qa’dah.
Court officials are due to hold a session on Tuesday and issue a decision on when the new month will begin.The Saudi General Directorate of Passports has announced the latest figures of pilgrims arriving in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Haj rituals.
So far, 1,151,010 pilgrims have landed in Saudi Arabia since the start of Haj season, indicating a 25 per cent increase of arrivals compared to the same period last year, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The directorate explained that 1,084,859 pilgrims arrived by air, 60,204 by land, and 5,947 by sea.
