Observation is the technique of conducting researches. It is one of the important techniques used for the purpose. Some people believe that observation is synonymous to watching a feature or phenomena but that’s not a fact. Instead it related causes and effects associated with a particular observable data of any feature or phenomenon.

Any person associated with research may use the method direct or indirect. Both the ways outcomes are achievable. But the differences in both the ways concerning the outcomes are visible.
The observation method is the liked and trusted method of the scientists, economists, geographers, sociologists. This method has been applied for surveys by different public institutions and private institutions quite often because of its precision and explicitness.
Like every other method of research the observation is also subject to certain limitations. It’s disadvantages include inability to study any event or phenomenon in past context. The data collected during observation may not be true and reliable due to differences of behaviors and attitudes of the people which are respondents to the observation questionnaire although seldom.
People associated with any surveying sample collection or research scholars may use other methods as well but the fact that they prefer to start with observation.
