Over 40 passengers, including three infants were on Friday airlifted between Srinagar and cut off border town of Kargil in Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh and Jammu, official said.
Officials said that 22 passengers, including 2 infants, were airlifted from Kargil to Jammu, in one sortie of AN32 aircraft.
They said that 19 passengers, including one infant, were airlifted in M-172 Pawan Hans helicopter from Srinagar to Kargil and 3 passengers from Kargil to Srinagar.
Authorities are operating aircrafts to airlift passengers as the national highway, the only road connecting UT Ladakh with Kashmir remained closed due to snow and avalanches.
