‘Peace can’t be restored in Kashmir untill Mehbooba is CM’

Veteran Samajwadi Party leader Ram Naresh Agarwal on Sunday levelled serious allegations against the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti of being hand in glove with the militants while reacting to the continuing spree of violence in Kashmir.
According to news agency ANI, Agarwal said,” jab tak Mehbooba ji CM rahengi vahan shaanti bahaali nahi ho sakti, unke khud hi aantankwadiyon se sambandh hain” (Peace cannot be restored in the valley until Mehbooba Mufti remains CM. She herself is hand in glove with the militants ). The allegations come in the wake of comments made by Mufti recently wherein she emphasised the dialogue is the sole way to resolve the Kashmir issue.
Mehbooba said, “Dialogue has always been part of our agenda and manifesto, whether it was in 2002 or today. Several wars have been fought but the issue has not been resolved. You cannot resolve issues with guns or armies. We have to unite to get this (resolving the issue) done. Our people are dying, life along the border is disturbed and poor people on both sides are dying,”
“It is democracy which has kept the nation alive and helped it move ahead of its neighbours. In our state, the main reason behind the bloodshed we are witnessing is that democracy was not allowed to take roots here. It was rejected and strangulated,” she said.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief said it was only in a democracy like India that people could put their divergent views out in the public domain.
Kashmir, in previous one year, saw a spike in the violence post killing of Hizbul Mujahidin commander Burhan Wani.
