3 cars 1 scooty suffer damage
Three cars and a scooty were damaged on Tuesday, when unidentified persons hurled a grenade on moving vehicles in Baghe Ali Mardan Khan area of downtown Srinagar.
The incident occurred when there was heavy vehicular movement in the area that unidentified persons appeared on the scene and hurled a petrol bomb on the moving vehicles, in which three cars bearing registration Nos. JK 01A 5158, JK 01W 6695, JK 01 K 1811 and a scooty, bearing registration No. JK 01 A 7750 suffered damage.
The petrol bomb attack spread panic among the people, who ran for safety. Streets, which were a buzz before the attack, with heavy vehicular traffic, wore a deserted look in just minutes after the attack.
Police arrived on the spot immediately after the incident took place and cordoned off the area and a manhunt was launched to nab the persons, responsible for petrol bomb attack; however police did not succeed in making any arrest in the connection.
India accused Pakistan of ceasefire violation on Line of Control (LOC) in Kerni sector of Poonch district in Jammu region on Tuesday.
Army officials said that Pakistan army resorted to unprovoked heavy shelling in the sector on Tuesday morning, which was given a befitting reply by Indian Army.
The cross border shelling lasted for many hours, after which the guns from either sides fell silent.
There was no information of any loss of life or property from sides; however the residents of the area were terrified due to the engagement of the sides with heavy artillery.
Pertinently the cross LoC shelling in the area has returned in the area oater a lull of two days silence. (CNS)
