December 29, 2019 | BK NEWS DESK/SRINAGAR

Srinagar: The demand for the restoration of internet services and pre-paid mobiles is gaining ground with each passing day.
The people from all walks requested the concerned authorities to resume the internet services in the valley which continues to remain barred for the past five months causing huge inconvenience to the people of Kashmir.
The ongoing internet gag have not only taken toll on the general users of the valley but the same gag has hampered most of the day to day tasks of various governmental and non-governmental organisations.
Irshad Bhat, a resident of Srinagar said, “The restoration of postpaid cellular services a welcome step by the administration but what about the internet and prepaid cellular services which is mostly used by the people of Kashmir.”
He said that the Government has eased the suffering of 40 lakh postpaid subscribers but what the remaining 25 lakh of prepaid subscribers? What about the internet services? He further added, “The government has taken a good step in restoring the normalcy back in the region but the restoration of communication services should be eased to all of the subscribers irrespective of prepaid or postpaid plans.”
“The restoration of postpaid services is an important step in bringing the situation back on the track in Kashmir but due to the ongoing prepaid and internet gag, we are facing many problems as before the gag was imposed I was able to access various online references via internet which were very helpful but now I rely on couple of guides,” said a NEET aspirant.
She said that she was thinking to move Bengaluru in order to access the internet services there which holds a paramount importance in cracking the NEET test but available time is the constraint as she said that, “Shifting to some other place is not as easy as it seems to be.”
She further said that, “If the state administration restores back the prepaid cellular communication and mobile internet services in the valley without further delay, I am sure I will be able to prepare well for my upcoming exams.”
