Hundreds of people Friday blocked Srinagar-Baramulla highway near Zainakote Srinagar seeking bodies of two labourers from Jehlum. The duo, according to [protestors drowned on Thursday night.
Official said during extraction of sand near Zainakote Srinagar, two labourers drowned in the River Jehlum Thursday night. Till date their bodies have not been retrieved, though rescue operation is in progress to trace them.
The drowned duo has been identified as Majid Lone son of Abdul Rehman of Pattan and Muhammad Aslam Bhat son of Ghulam Qadir of Zainakoot Srinagar.
The relatives of the deceased blocked the traffic on Friday as a result hundreds of vehicles got stranded. They alleged that authorities are not showing any keenness in retrieving the bodies of these two youth. (KNT)
