It is a matter of great pride and joy for India that a parliamentarian of Indian origin has become the first Prime Minister of Great Britain. He is set to assume the reins of power on 28th October. It is so good that Rishi Sunak has become the prime minister of Britain on the auspicious occasion of Diwali and is a matter of jubilation for Indians that an Indian origin person will rule over England. He was earlier also nearer to be elected as the Prime Minister but was short of few votes and thus Lez Truss a lady parliamentarian stole the show and became prime minister by a very small margin of votes. However she resigned from the august post of prime minister and it cleared road for Rishi Sunak to become the prime minister.

Rishi Sunak belongs to conservative party and 200 hundred conservative parliamentarians supported the nomination of Rishi Sunak for Prime ministership. The election of Rishi Sunak as the prime minister of Britian has bellied the concept and opinion given by Winstin Churchill who was the head of conservative party that a Indian has no capability and capacity to rule but this prophecy turned false with the anointment of Rishi Sunak as the prime minister of Britian .It is for the first time in the history of Britain that an Indian origin parliamentarian has become the prime minister of England by dint of his hard and popularity and he is merely of 42 years of age and it is very good that he will assume office of Prime ministership on 28th October 2022.It is not an ordinary thing that a legislator professing Hindu faith and being proud of his being a Hindu is anointed as the prime minister of Britain and his election as the prime minister of England will have enough repercussions and bearings on the relations between India and Britain and it has got significance for the world politics and emerging world order.
The Indian prime minister has greeted Rishi Sunak on his being made the prime minister of Britain at a very young age and hoped that his anointment as the PM of Britain will pave way for a joint action and response to the common and bilateral matters. In fact his appointment as the prime minister of Britain is an extra ordinary thing for the relations between India and Britain and also for the the whole international community and the world leaders will look towards Sunik for addressing the common issues of the world. Rishi Sunak took oath as MP from Yorkshire with Bagwad Gita in his hands and he is proud of his Indian origin and also for being a staunch Hindu and he lit candles in 10 Drowning Street on the auspicious occasion of Diwali and therefore in the coming days Indian culture ,ethos and traditions will find due place and recognition at the official residence of British Prime minister and it is hoped that the attacks on their temples and on Hindus will stop..It is no mean development and feat that a man of Indian origin became the prime minister of Britain.
He earlier served as the finance minister in the government of Boris Johnson and earlier to this important portfolio he was the chancellor of the Exchequer under his leadership. Rishi Sunak often speaks of his heritage and how his family reminded him often about values and culture. Rishi Sunak is Stanford University graduate and a former investment banker. During the campaigning for the PM’s post in summer of 2022,he faced criticism on various fronts including his lavish house ,expensive suits and shoes.
It is heard that his nomination for PM post has been opposed in the past by some legislators and thus he was earlier prevented from becoming the Prime minister of Britain but God has in store for him the prime ministers chair despite all odds and difficulties and thus he became the PM of England astonishing all and sundry. Rishi Sunak got the overwhelming support of 200 MP’S which played a great role in making him the prime minister.The other claimant for the prime ministership has withdrawn and made road clear Sunak to become the prime minister of Britain. To become the prime minister of great Britain is very significant and it is no ordinary development. Now that Rishi Sunak has become the PM of Britain,he has to work hard and prove his mettle and work for his people with dedication ,efficiency and devotion so that his work will have a big and positive impact on the British society. It is only by dint of his hard work and popularity that he was successful in becoming the PM of Britain. Rishi Sunak who became the prime minister of UK has issued a plea for unity in the face of a profound economic challenge. He won the Tory leadership after rival Penny Mordaunt failed to secure enough backing from MP’S. After becoming the PM Rishi Sunak said bringing his party and UK together would be his topmost priority.
He defeated centrist politician Penny Mordaunt ,who failed to get enough backing from lawmakers to enter the ballot, while his rival, the former PM Boris Johnson ,withdrew from the contest saying that he could no longer unite the party. Rishi Sunak became the PM after he won the race to lead the conservative party, leaving him with the task of steering a deeply divided country through an economic downturn set to leave millions of people poor. Sunak ,one of the wealthiest politicians in Westminster will be asked to form government by king Charles,by replacing Liz Truss, the outgoing leader who lasted 44 days in the job before she resigned. The decision to appoint Rishi Sunak shows the diversity of British politics. As said already Rishi Sunak became the first Indian-origin politician to head the UK as he has been chosen as the Tory leader in British Parliament after rival Penny Morduant backed out pledging full support to Sunak.
Rishi Sunak has scripted history by becoming the first of Indian descent, Britain’s first no white leader and first Hindu to take the top post. Sunak 42 became the youngest prime minister in more than 200years. Rishi Sunak became the third PM of Britain in less than two months, after Boris Johnson and Liz Truss. Rishi Sunak has taken to twitter to announce ,’’I want to fix economy, unite our party and deliver for our country.’’ He also said the UK is a great country but we face a profound economic crisis. That is why I am standing to be leader of the conservative party and your next PM. The new PM had first been elected to parliament in 2015, and served as the chief secretary to the treadury, second in command to finance minister, overseeing public spending. Sunak has attended the Westminister collage before going to study Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University. He also has an MBA from Stanford University of the United States. Sunik became the prime minister of UK but his challenge is onerous as he has to steer the country from economic and political uncertainty and thus the challenges before him are daunting and he has to do much hard work and also work with honesty to lift the economy from recession and downfall and his work and leading the country will be judged in the days to come by his actions of keeping the country united and economically and politically vibrant. In short Sunak has to deliver and come up to the expectations of the Britishers and this will be the litmus test of his efficiency and way of doing things for the countrymen.
