SMVDU: Entrepreneurship conclave organised at school of business

The Entrepreneurship Conclave was organized by the School of Business, Faculty of Management in association with the Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. The Chief Guest of the inaugural function Prof.Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU highlighted the importance of an entrepreneurial mindset that enables people to identify and make the opportunities, overcome and learn from setbacks, and succeed in a variety of settings. He emphasized inculcating entrepreneurial values within students for business independence and sustainability. Prof.AshutoshVashistha, Dean, Faculty of Management expresses gratitude towards the experts and wishes the participating students the best of luck for future endeavors. Prof.Supran Kumar Sharma, Coordinator of the program described about the various entrepreneurial opportunities enhancing future economic growth, innovation, and entrepreneurship research. Prof.Jyoti Sharma, Head of the School of Business narrating through story mentioned the relevance of perseverance in entrepreneurship. She emphasized that struggles make one stronger and life of entrepreneurship is full of struggles. The six plenary sessions were conducted in which experts delivered talks on different Entrepreneurial aspects. The different experts including Mr. SanjeevaShivesh, Co-founder, Think Startup, Gurugram, NCR talked about the several government schemes the country is witnessing in a wave of entrepreneurial spirit today. He also talked about the base of Viksit Bharat and its contribution to bringing together all the stakeholders for the development of a nation.
Prof. T. Prasad, Professor of IIM Mumbai, pointed towards critical thinking by saying that “Bechdo” is the only seed of Entrepreneurship instead of sitting, thinking, and remembering anything. He addresses that one should have an education but education should have a relation with jobs. He also emphasized the ability to teach students and have a positive influence on them. Mr. Annil Suri, President and CEO, AB Consultants, highlighted the importance of personal SWOT analysis in which an individual should focus on outlining their professional strengths and weaknesses, opportunities for growth, and threats to their success and suggested not to ignore the small things in life. Mr. Rajneesh Sharma, Director, and Founder, Trikuta Agro, highlighted the contribution of perseverance in personal growth, developing resilience and strength, and more importantly, learning from failures and discovering career opportunities for becoming a successful entrepreneur. Dr.Vivek Sharma, CIO, IIM Jammu, enlightened students that they should have faith in themselves, work for themselves, invest in their passion, and build a business. The sixth expert, Mr. Bhaskar Suri, Partner, Satyam Cattle Feed, pointed towards the dream of becoming the next celebrated entrepreneur and shared his experience concerning business plans and profitable startup ideas for economic development. Dr, SyedaShazia Bukhari, Co-organising Secretary, delivered the vote of thanks to the respected dignitaries and panellists. Dr, Deepak Jain, Co-convener along with Dr.Sarabjot Singh and Dr.Divya Singh Jamwal facilitated the guests along with other faculty members of the School of Business.
During the panel discussion on “Entrepreneurship &Viksit Bharat-Vision 2047”. The experts gave their opinions and discussed the initiatives taken by the government for its successful implementation. Several opportunities were discussed with panelists and students looking forward to start-ups fostering youth entrepreneurship. Apart from the six experts, students pursuing the MBA programs were also the panelists in the panel discussion. Mr. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Registrar, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University also joined the panel discussion and narrated the relevance of such types of interactions when working in the field as a very useful learning exposure for management students. Dr.Sunanda Gupta, organising secretary presented the panel discussion report. In the end, a hands-on workshop on ‘Enterprise Management’ was also conducted by Mr. SanjeevaShivesh and Prof. T. Prasad to inculcate entrepreneurship skills among the students.
