Struggling Prayer

July 11, 2019 | Hossam Hussain Khan

The diaspora of Kashmiri youth always call for the prayer that, What if I can live with my beloved ones, What if I can relish the life with my old friends, How about I start working at the place that I call home and people call paradise “Kashmir”. But this mythical feeling can’t be rejoiced, as my place is full of Big Shots that have money & power hunger which i can’t match. This is the story of me and many others who crave for such actuality but the reality does not come or last like movies do. Dichotomy of it is the thunder of reality ie, a state that is ripped apart by the disaster that is “Corruption” and “Nepotism”. It is a phase that is a welcome party of stress, anxiety, depression to the deserving youth towards an uncertain future. The Adversity is in full swing and the results are quite dramatic. Narcotics are on a rampage that is a saviour from this absorbing space of depression. How can we overcome this disease of “Corruption”?
The Deserving fall and the Undeserving rise. The aftermath of this actuality is rather savage, as again we can’t fight the unrelenting system, we feel claustrophobic, we want to scream as the demons inside us haunt every single time we think of a better future. This sinking feeling of “Unemployment” is flaunting to and fro which is decaying the passion, energy, enthusiasm, talent and the spring of youthfulness. We pray that justice shall come, “The deserving shall rise” so shall the undeserving fall. The system is rather Scandalous but let’s hope that this time the culprits should be accused and really found to be guilty. The action should be a reality at least this time. I appeal the current Governance not to be frivolous with JK Bank Scandal and back door appointments as they should be made an example of, more importantly this will not only be a step forward but a giant leap towards a better work culture which will bring back again a ray of hope that is glittering in every aspiring eye.
I and all of us that are a victim of “Current Corrupt” system hope that all the undeserving should be vanished and the Hardworker’s should be owned in these organizations. At least those who are a product of the system should feel the pain of “Unemployment” that is taking a toll every passing day on every aspiring, who promised their mother that I will buy you a necklace, who promised their father I will buy you an expensive watch, who promised their younger sibling that I will support you in thick and thin but rather flees away towards an unending journey where it sees itself castigating God. The reality of sustaining in this cruel world does not start on a happy note.
He sees himself like a minnow swimming in an ocean as it leaves its stream and starts competing with the sharks. All of a sudden it experiences the motion of bullying and discrimination because of its creed, culture and the place where he comes from. The tag line of its nationality makes it more worse for it to be a part and get mingled with the environment. The never ending emotional thoughts crumble its personality and the struggle for a better future goes through a hierarchy which is callous. The present makes the frivolous nature of the youth into a shrink and future becomes darker than dark. The psychological trauma and the cultural conflict on the first step attacks the ethics, then moulds the person into an animal which is rather called a “Dude” in today’s millennial lingo, sucking up the innocence it once had.
The feelings that once was a big part of his upbringing deteriorate and he becomes practical in this materialistic world, as they say. Money which once was a need becomes an obsession and the practicality that gets attached to it yields into a cold blooded individual. And once, who was a diaspora becomes a permanent resident of a place which was never his. So where are we heading towards?
A society with a corporate culture that has employees who don’t deserve to be there, or flip side of it is an individual who was always capable but was stabbed professionally as well as emotionally. But the people who are hatching this conspiracy don’t realize one thing that “They are so consumed in themselves that they will be their own doom”.
Salvation is too far but who can manipulate an aspiring heart. In today’s day and age Kashmir has only become a place to visit for tourists as well as for the youth who desperately want to stay but rather get exploited professionally by people who can never own them. At the end I want to sum it all up in a couplet,

“Darkness is a Dwelling for Spirits”
“Who says Humans don’t Live There”.
