‘Sufi Virasat’, the grand sufi spiritual congregation was held at Heritage Park, Dal Gate, Srinagar on Sep 19 (Sunday). It was the second time that this event was held in Srinagar recently, first time being at Bulbul Shah Park, adjoining Zero Bridge on Aug 25. Members from twenty seven Sufi shrines and twenty three Sufi associations attended the grand congregation. The event was organised by Kashmir Society International and Gee Gee Productions. The ‘Kalaams’ of some revered Sufi saints were chanted by local folk artists, who propagated the message of love and peace, as advocated by the great Sufi saints of Kashmir. *Mr PK Pole, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir and Mr Junaid Mattu, Mayor, Srinagar* graced the occasion. Divisional Commissioner in his address said that it is the need of the hour to encourage Sufi thoughts in Kashmir which are authentic symbols of our composite cultrual.
