Surprised Azad, Soni’s ‘big no’ have not put end to speculations: Omar
Reacting to rumours that PDP and Congress will forge an alliance to form a government in Jammu and Kashmir, former chief minister Omar Abdullah said he is surprised that Congress top brass’s emphatic denials haven’t been enough to put all this speculation to rest.
“I’m just surprised that @ghulamnazad (Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad) and Ambika Soni’s emphatic denials haven’t been enough to put all this speculation to rest,” Omar, who is the Vice President of National Conference (NC), wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
After Mehbooba Mufti had to resign as the Chief Minister following BJP pulling out support from the previous PDP-BJP regime last month, people were making speculations that PDP could once again form a government in the state with the support of Congress.
The main opposition in the state NC has also rejected possibility to form an alliance with PDP or BJP to form a government in the state, where Governor’s rule has been imposed. Omar has even advocated for the Assembly to be dissolved, alleging that BJP could indulge in horse-trading to grab power in the state.
