Sushma Swaraj seeks report on student beaten in Poland; says all aspects are being probed

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has sought a report from Indian ambassador in Poland Ajay Bisaria regarding a media report of an Indian student allegedly beaten in Poznan city in that country and assured that all aspects of the incident were being probed.
Ms Swaraj’s comment came in response to a tweet by a netizen who approached her with a news item in Polish media about the “death” of an Indian student after being beaten.
“Racist issue similar to US, the person shouted at him and then start hitting,” a tweet from one Amit Agnihotri marked to Ms Swaraj had said.
To this External Affairs Minister first responded last night: “I have just spoken to the Indian Ambassador in Poland and asked for a report”.
Then after an hour, she wrote again, “There was an incident of beating. Fortunately, he has survived. We are inquiring into all aspects of the incident”.
She also retweeted a message from Indian Ambassador in Poland, Ajay Bisaria wherein the envoy said:
“Prelim enquiry suggests student attacked in Poznan tram on Wed. Thank God, he survived. Getting details.”
