"Allah has created the human body in the best possible way, and any alteration to it is seen as disrespectful."

Islam is a religion that emphasizes the importance of purity and cleanliness. Muslims are required to perform ablution (wudu) before offering their daily prayers and engaging in other religious obligations. However, there are certain practices that are prohibited in Islam, which can hinder the process of purification. Two of these practices are getting tattoos and using nail polish or lipstick.
Tattoos in Islam
""Tattoos and cosmetics may provide temporary satisfaction, but they do not address the underlying emotional and psychological issues that lead us to seek them out."
Tattoos are considered forbidden (haram) in Islam because they involve changing the creation of Allah. Muslims believe that Allah has created the human body in the best possible way, and therefore, any alteration to it is seen as disrespectful. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Allah has cursed the one who does tattoos and the one who has a tattoo done." (Sahih Bukhari) Additionally, tattoos can pose a health risk, as the process of tattooing involves injecting ink into the skin, which can introduce foreign substances and bacteria into the body. This can lead to skin infections, allergic reactions, and even blood-borne diseases such as hepatitis and HIV. Furthermore, tattoos can also interfere with the process of purification. According to Islamic teachings, ablution requires that water reaches all parts of the body that are required to be washed. If there is a tattoo on any part of the body, the water may not reach that area properly, thus rendering the ablution incomplete. This can hinder a Muslim's ability to perform their religious obligations.
Nail Polish and Lipstick in Islam
"By avoiding harmful practices and focusing on natural remedies, we can promote a more holistic and balanced approach to beauty and self-care."
In addition to tattoos, the use of nail polish and lipstick is also prohibited in Islam for the purposes of purification. The reason for this is that these cosmetics create a barrier between the nails/lips and the water, which prevents the water from reaching the skin underneath. This can result in an incomplete ablution, which can hinder a Muslim's ability to perform their religious obligations.
Islamic teachings emphasize the importance of cleanliness and purity, and these practices are seen as obstacles to achieving that.
From a scientific perspective, nail polish and lipstick contain chemicals that can be harmful to the body. For example, some nail polishes contain chemicals such as formaldehyde, toluene, and phthalates, which can cause skin irritation, allergic reactions, and even cancer. Similarly, some lipsticks contain lead, which can cause lead poisoning if ingested in large amounts. These chemicals can also contaminate the water used for ablution, which can pose a health risk.
"Tattoos, nail polish, and lipstick are all forms of adornment that distract from the natural beauty of the human body."
Bottom line: In Islam, the importance of purity and cleanliness cannot be overstated. Ablution is a prerequisite for engaging in many religious obligations, and any practice that hinders the process of purification is considered prohibited. Tattoos, nail polish, and lipstick are some examples of practices that are considered haram in Islam for the purposes of purification. Muslims are encouraged to avoid these practices and ensure that they can perform their religious obligations with complete purity and cleanliness. From a scientific perspective, avoiding these practices can also help to prevent health risks associated with foreign substances and chemicals introduced into the body.
"Islam teaches us that beauty is not just skin-deep, but comes from within, and that true beauty is reflected in our character, actions, and deeds."
