Since time immemorial, teachers have been exalted and considered as the nation builders. More often than not, they are adored in a civilized society and respected in an elegant way. They indeed are worthy of utmost respect, deference, praise and admiration. The services they impart to the society are immeasurable and steep.

As a mark of tribute, 5th September is celebrated as “teacher’s day” to acclaim our nation builders for stupendous contribution they make to the society. Teacher is someone who wishes to annihilate the brutal darkness of ignorance by igniting splendid candles of knowledge in a society.
To become an impressive teacher is no child’s play. Numerous virtues are required to become a good teacher. Besides the vivid understanding of things, virtues such as tolerance, flexibility, patience, confidence, compassion sympathy, empathy and high self-esteem are absolutely pivotal to become an influential and productive teacher.
A good teacher devotes his pricy life in appeasing and inspiring the students to make them productive subunits of a society. There is nothing more exciting than ameliorating the lives of people in this impermanent world. What are the most fascinating and blissful roles of a teacher, you may ask! Well, let me explain them under following headings :-

Role Model for a Student

A good teacher serves as a role model for students whom they imitate and adore eternally. A well-mannered, elegant and meek mentor often influences the students and makes them responsible citizens of a society. More often than not, the fair actions of a teacher impart unforgettable lessons to the students and hence they start to emulate him in different spheres of life.

Critic and Rectifier

A good teacher imparts constructive criticism to his pupils and rectifies their mistakes. A teacher can’t stomach his students opting wrong tracks in the learning process.

Environment for Prompt Learning

A successful teacher makes environment conducive for learning and cajoles students to remain in zone.

Values

Teachers inculcate moral values in students and assist them to mingle with the society.

For a Society

Teachers fecundate a society by generating fecund subunits for it. Teachers are actively participating in lessening the rates of juvenile delinquency, drug addiction, domestic violence and other heinous social evils. A society without such baleful evils prospers by leaps and bounds. Teachers actively participate in carrying out different social changes and making this world a better place for its subunits.
Besides above mentioned roles, a teacher also functions In different social settings. For instance, a teacher has limitless obligations to fulfill in a family and in other social institutions!
Teaching can never be regarded as a thankless job. It requires lot of dedication, patience and hardwork to carve the students and lead them towards the new heights and experiences of life.
A good teacher can ameliorate the lives of his students by imparting proper education and by inculcating various other virtues in them. As a teacher, I have learned how a teacher can help a student to curb the negative behavior and persuade him/her display the positive behavior. I have been teaching for last 5 years and I have carried out the flip-flop of various students from negative to positive. I reckon, it is the responsibility of a teacher to help his students cope up with the stresses and excel in the career.

Pewaan chum yaad kati bani meon ustaad
