Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Sunday termed the termination of Cross LOC trade a worrisome development, stating that it seems the government is determined to push Kashmir back into the dark era of 90s.
In a statement, Kadfeen said that though taking bizarre and uncalled for measures have become hallmark of the BJP government, the reasons given for terminating the Cross LOC trade are lame, inexplicable and mysterious.
He said that the trade was more symbolic in nature as it would instil hope in peace loving citizens that there are chances of tranquil and prosperous days in the state. Kadfeen said by terminating the trade, the government in actual has demolished that emblem of hope which was inspiring people not to go adrift.
He said that the muscular and repressive measures will only aggravate the problem and by pushing the people of the state towards the wall, the government is deepening the wedge between the state and the rest of the country.
He urged the government to restore the trade and prioritise taking Confidence Building Measures instead of hatred building ones.
