Traffic regulations implemented after opening of Tulip Garden

March 27, 2024 | BK News Service

After the opening of Tulip Garden on the banks of Dal Lake, authorities have announced the implementation of one-way traffic regulations from March 24th to April 10th, 2024. The initiative aims to streamline traffic flow and ensure a smooth experience for visitors during the festive period.
According to the directives issued, individuals planning to visit the Tulip Garden are advised to follow specific routes for ingress and egress. Those intending to access the garden are instructed to take the Lal Chowk–Dalgate-Boulevard/Gupkar Road route, while return journeys should be made via the Nishat-Foreshore-Habak-Dargah-Khanyar route.
Similarly, motorists traveling from Harwan, Shalimar, Nishat, and adjacent areas towards Lal Chowk are urged to utilize the Foreshore-Hazratbal route instead of the Nishat-Boulevard road axis.
In addition, individuals traveling from Gulab Bagh, Zakoora, Naseembagh, Habbak, and surrounding areas are advised to adopt the Habak-Dargah-Khanyar route to reach Lal Chowk, rather than using Foreshore Road.
To manage the influx of vehicles, visitors are encouraged to park only in designated parking areas to avoid congestion. Vehicles parked incorrectly will be towed. Designated parking spaces include areas in front of the Botanical Garden, open land at Karpora, and the LCMA Parking at Nishat.
The one-way traffic system will be operational from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with allowances for emergency vehicles to take the shortest routes as necessary.
These measures have been put in place to enhance the overall experience for visitors and ensure the smooth flow of traffic.
