Tral village yet to be electrified

A village in South Kashmir’s Tral in Pulwama district is without electricity with locals mostly making use of solar lights and oil lamps to lit their houses.
Locals of Wazil-Kulnar Lalpora , the remote village of Tral sub district, told us that the village is without electricity despite repeated requests to the concerned department for the implementation of electricity in the area. They said that despite several requests , Government has not made any effort to light up the village.
“Our village has no electricity. The legislators promised us that the village will be electrified but none of them kept their promise till the date ,” said a local resident while talking to Brighter Kashmir.
He said the village is facing multiple problems but the major one is of electricity, which is the dream of people here.
The students of this village face lot of difficulties because they can’t study after dusk due to darkness.
“We are facing a lot of difficulties in the absence of electricity as we are not able to study during late hours because of lack of electricity ” Said a student while talking to this Brighter Kashmir.
A delegation of people from this area have requested concerned authorities to look into the matter and provide electricity as early as possible.
