Two Kashmiri Editors attending IFWJ conference in Vizag

Two Kashmiri Editors are attending Indian Federation of Working Journalist Conference (IFWJ) conference in Visakhapatnam from April 21 to 23.
Farooq Wani, Editor, Brighter Kashmir, Rashid Rahil, Editor, Asian Mail are heading to Visakhapatnam to attend two day conference and are representing Kashmiri journalists there.
The conference will be attended by more than 400 members. The main agenda of the conference is to highlight the media’s role towards society, problems faced by the media in day today activities.
K Vikran Rao is the president of IFWJ. Roa is an author, journalist, broadcaster and telecaster for 45 years, K. Vikram Rao edits newspersons’ monthly the Working Journalist, and is a columnist on current affairs for some 215 English, Hindi, Telugu and Urdu dailies. He also worked as the correspondent of the Voice of America, Washington, DC, in its south Asian bureau (Hindi service). He has been with the Times of India from 1962 till 1998.
“They have invited us from J&K and we are supposed to deliver lectures regarding problems faced by media in Kashmir,” said Farooq Wani, Editor, Brighter Kashmir.
He said the Kashmiri journalists and editors are facing lot of problems due to internet ban.
The session of the IFWJ working committee will be held at Viswas Kumar Sharma Sabhagar in Paredu, Visakhapatnam (A.P.) on April 21 to 23,2017. The conference is being organized by Com. S. Veerbhadra Rao, president of IFWJ state unit, and editor of the Telugu daily the Vishaka Patrika.
