Week old militant returns home in Srinagar

Tufail Mir, a 1st year student from Qamarwari Srinagar who joined militants a week ago has returned his home, police said on Thursday.
Tufail had left for college to attend his classes in Degree College Bemina however he did not return to his home, sources said adding he had instead joined militant ranks.
Sources said that Tufail was arrested from an undisclosed location however DIG central Kashmir Ghulam Hassan Bhat during a press conference said that “Tufail is with family at his home”.
After remaining missing for a week, Tufail Qadeer Mir (19) showed up on social networking websites, attired in camouflage military fatigues, cradling a rifle, on May 24.
On Tuesday, Mir – a student of B A 1st year at Degree College Bemina – was reportedly detained by police in a case registered during the protests that followed the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani last July.
However, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) central Kashmir Ghulam Hassan Bhat told journalists at a news conference in Srinagar that “Tufail is with his family at his home”.
Despite repeated questions, he didn’t explain what led to his return to home.
