A very interesting video has surfaced on the YouTube on 20 Jun 2022 hosted by a Pakistani, Mr Suhail Chaudhari of Real Entertainment TV. He has asked a number of Pakistani citizens, as to “What Pakistan actually wants from India - Kashmiri Muslims or Kashmiri Land?” The reaction by people was eye-opening. The host gives a background to the question by explaining that Pakistanis are taught right from childhood that they should ‘get’ Kashmir but why should they get it is never explained. He thus poses this simple but profound question to people and some responses are given below:

“What does Pakistan actually want from India - Kashmiri Muslims or Kashmiri Land?”
Respondent
“Kashmiri Muslims are our brothers and we want them to be happy.”
Host
“Then why not speak about Muslim brothers everywhere in India and even in Pakistan? And if Muslim brotherhood is so important then remember that even Bangladeshis were Muslims; why did they break away from Pakistan? The fact is that Pakistani Government exhibits pseudo love for Kashmiris but oppresses its own public.”

“Do Pakistanis love ‘Kashmiris’ or ‘Kashmir’?”
Respondent
“We love ‘Kashmiris”.
Host
“If we love Kashmiris, then will we accept them in Pakistan? That is, can we accept Kashmiris without the land of Kashmir?”
Respondent
“The land of Kashmir must come along with the Kashmiris. Without the land, Pakistan does not have the wherewithal to look after Kashmiris. Also, Kashmir is Jannat and everyone wants jannat “Hum ko bhi toh Jannat Chahiye.”

“If everyone covets Jannat then let Indian Muslims take the Jannat of Kashmir.”
Respondent
“Referendum should be held in Kashmir. Let Kashmiris decide their future.”

“Remember…the UN condition to the referendum is that first Pakistan should withdraw its forces from occupied Kashmir (will it happen?). And…what happens if Kashmiris opt to stay with India…will we have any issues?”
Respondent
“Yes, it will still be an issue…..we cannot accept that.”
Host
“So it means that we have no love for Kashmiris and we are only interested in the land of Kashmir.”
Respondent
“We love Kashmiris and we also love the land of Kashmir. We require the LAND and the ‘RIVERS’. ZAMEEN BHI ZARURI HAI. WAHAN KE DARIYA AUR PANI BHI HUM KO CHAHIYE.”
The video touched the very basic issue which we Kashmiris must understand that Pakistanis don’t have any love for Kashmir, their actual motives include real estate and water security. Come to think of it, the so called Azad Kashmir (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) is not even a province of Pakistan. It has no political representation at the national level in Pakistan. The demography over there has already been changed substantially to make the original inhabitants a minority.
As far as Gilgit-Baltistan is concerned, it may be noted that Islamabad abolished the State Subject Rule in Gilgit-Baltistan way back in 1984, resulting in substantial demographic changes in the area. People from different parts of Pakistan have been allowed to purchase land there SINCE 1984. Ironically, Gilgit-Baltistan is neither a state nor a province. Overall, the known fact is that the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir has been plundered by successive governments of its resources and neglected for development. The state of education, health, infrastructure and employment is abysmally poor in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Due to lack of political legitimacy, the state of Kashmiris in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir is pathetic. While the Kashmiris in Pakistan occupied Kashmir are treated like second class citizens, Pakistan professes love for Kashmiris of Indian side...what hypocrisy. Similar profound grievances of neglect, oppression and exploitation in Balochistan and Sindh have led to freedom struggles there.
Another alarming fact is that since last few years, Pakistan Government has been settling Kashmiri refugees in Sindh. The “Jiye Sindh Movement” accuses that the purpose it is to make Sindhis a minority in their own state and curb their ‘freedom movement’. Kashmiris being settled in Sindh !!! if this does not clearly show Pakistan’s double speak and treachery for Kashmir’, nothing else can.
If Pakistanis love Kashmiris....why are ISI and Pakistan Army sending terrorists in Kashmir to kill Kashmiris? The fact is that Pakistan always wanted the land and rivers of Kashmir.....they have no love for Kashmiris. Especially now, when Pakistan Government is bankrupt, when its leaders are moving around with a begging bowl, when petrol prices have gone out of the roof, when dollar has crossed Rs 210, when inflation is unprecedented, when the country is about to default on loans, ISI and Pakistani military is doing what they do best...increase violence in Kashmir to divert attention of Pakistani public from indicators of impending doom.
