Baramulla, Jan 14 : The Indian Army's Dagger Division, under the Chinar Corps, organized a successful Ex-Servicemen Rally in Baramulla on January 14, 2025. The event witnessed the participation of hundreds of veterans and their Next of Kin (NOKs) incl Veer Naries and Gallantry Awardees from various tehsils of the district.
Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava, GOC, Chinar Corps, and Maj Gen PS Punia, GOC, Dagger Division, were among the dignitaries who graced the occasion. The rally aimed to provide a platform for veterans to address their concerns related to welfare, medical care, and pay and allowances.
A series of cultural programs, including folk dances, a military band display, and performances by local artists, entertained the attendees.
Representatives from all ECHS, ZSB and various banks conducted lectures to highlight the benefits available to ex-servicemen through various government schemes.
Several banks and recruiting firms set up stalls to inform veterans about employment opportunities and financial schemes. Record Offices were also present to register and address grievances.
The highlight of the event was a felicitation ceremony honoring Veer Naris, Veer Matas, and Gallantry awardees.
Many veterans expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to reconnect with fellow comrades and learn about the available welfare programs. The Dagger Division reiterated its commitment to the well-being of its veterans and pledged to continue organizing such events in the future.
