New Delhi, Feb 4: A signing ceremony organized by the School of Translation Studies and Training, IGNOU for the renewal of MoU for Sindhi Chair between Indira Gandhi National Open University and National Council for Promotion of Sindhi Language (NCPSL), Ministry of Education today.
The Sindhi Chair is housed in the School of Translation Studies and Training, IGNOU.
The welcome address was given by Prof Rajendra Prasad Pandey, Director, SOTST, IGNOU. Followed by opening remarks made by Prof. Sumitra Kukreti, PVC, IGNOU.
The special address was given by Prof. Aquil Ahmad, Director, NCPSL, MOE, GOI.
Prof. Nageswar Rao, Vice Chancellor, IGNOU in his presidential address emphasized on promoting Sindhi language further by offering academic programmes at the earliest.
He hoped that with a mutual cooperation between IGNOU and NCPSL, the Sindhi Language and Literature will reach the wider areas and community in the country.
Prof. R.P. Das, PVC and Prof. Satyakam, PVC also graced the occasion. The renewal MoU was signed by Dr.V.B. Negi, Registrar (Admn.) IGNOU and Prof.Aquil Ahmad, Director, NCPSL, MOE in the presence of Hon’ble VC, PVCs and academic fraternity. The MoU will exist for the period of three years. The Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. Harish Kumar Sethi, Assistant Professor, SOTST, IGNOU. The Programme was moderated by Prof. Jagdish Sharma, SOTST, IGNOU.
All the faculty members and Staff of SOTST participated in the function. The Programme was streamed through Zoom Meet for welcoming others to participate.
