
Srinagar, June 16: Continuing its crackdown on narcotics trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Srinagar Police attached immovable properties worth ₹1.5 crore belonging to two alleged drug peddlers under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985.
Police Station Batamaloo attached a three-storey residential house worth ₹80 lakh in Nundresh Colony, Muslimabad, Srinagar, belonging to Sikander Firdous, who is involved in an NDPS case registered at Batamaloo Police Station.
In a separate action, Police Station Kralkhud attached a single-storey residential house worth ₹70 lakh belonging to Ghulam Hassan Bhat of Mirgund Kanalwan, Bijbehara, Anantnag, in connection with an NDPS case registered at Kralkhud Police Station.
Police said investigations established that the properties were acquired through proceeds from illicit narcotics trafficking. The attachments aim to dismantle the financial networks of drug traffickers and prevent offenders from benefiting from illegal activities. Authorities reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against narcotics-related crimes and appealed to the public to assist in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking.Kothibagh has taken cognizance of the incident and launched an investigation to ascertain the cause and circumstances surrounding the death.
