
In pursuance of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav-“Meri Maati Mera Desh”, “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, 161 BN, CRPF organized Debate Competition, Tree Plantation and awareness of Flag Code on 14th August 2023 at Government Girls Secondary School, Narwara, Srinagar. The event was formally inaugurated by Sh. Balihar Singh, Commandant, 161 BN CRPF in the presence of Sh. Surendra Ram, 2-I/C, Sh. M. Pradeep John, 2-I/C, Mrs. Kounser Jan I/C Head Master, media person, students, faculty members and guardians. During the event 17 students participated in Debate Competition with great zeal and enthusiasm. The topics of debate were “Mobile phone is good or bad for children” for category of class 06th to 08th and “Education is becoming costlier but the quality is not improving” for category of class 09th to 10th. Participants exhibited impromptu oratory skill with clear ideas. Adeeba Ahtisham stood first in 9th to 10th class category while Sabreena Bano grabbed first position in 06th to 08th class category. The winners and runners up, across each category were awarded with prizes as well as certificates. For further encouragement each participant was given Certificate of appreciation for their participation. Thenceforth, Sh. Balihar Singh, Commandant, 161 BN along with his team of officers and personnel also conducted Tree Plantation along with students and school teachers & staff as part of above campaign. Shri Balihar Singh, Commandant-161 Bn speaking on the occasion, first congratulated all the winners, runner ups and participants for their enthusiastic efforts, active participation and emphasized upon the importance of National Unity, Integrity and Trees. He also assured that such events will be organized in future too. He also apprised about the salient features of the Flag Code of India to the students, faculty members and guardians. As concluding remarks, he thanked students, guardians, teachers, media persons whose presence have graced the occasion for their cooperation.
