People, especially business community Friday appealed Jammu Kashmir Bank Chairman to open up a bank branch at district headquarter Budgam.
There is only one Jammu Kashmir Bank branch at the district headquarter while thousands of people who visit that branch on daily basis can be seen waiting in queues for a long time. “I am scared of visiting this branch. There is always huge rush. My precious time gets wasted whenever I visit this branch for any work,” said a shopkeeper, Bilal Ahmed told Kashmir News Trust.
The shopkeepers said that it is a nightmare for them to deposit or withdraw money from this branch. “The only Cash Deposit Machine (CDM) installed at the district headquarter frequently remains out of order. We are businessmen and have to visit the bank frequently,” they said.
They said that it is the need of the hour to have another bank branch at the district headquarters. Keeping the huge rush of customers into account, the opening up of another branch has become necessary. “We appeal Chairman JK Bank to give heed to our demand,” they said. (KNT)
