Champhai , Aug 5: Assam Rifles organised a special outreach programme titled "A Day with a Company Commander" for students of Holy Cross School and Agape Academy in Champhai, Mizoram, to strengthen civil-military relations and inspire the younger generation.
The programme, held on August 3, witnessed the participation of 38 students and four teachers, who interacted with Assam Rifles personnel and took part in a series of recreational and sporting activities.
The event featured competitions including the Sweet Race, Tug of War, Musical Chair and Volleyball Match, aimed at promoting teamwork, discipline, confidence and sportsmanship among the participants.
During an interactive session, Assam Rifles personnel shared their experiences of military life and highlighted the Force's role in safeguarding the nation's borders, maintaining peace and security, and contributing to community welfare and development.
Students were also encouraged to embrace discipline, leadership and a spirit of service towards the nation.
The initiative was appreciated by teachers and students alike, who described it as an enriching experience that provided valuable insight into the life and responsibilities of security personnel.
Officials said the programme reflects Assam Rifles' continued commitment to nation-building, youth engagement and fostering stronger bonds with civil society through meaningful outreach initiatives.
