Kohima, Aug 6: : In a powerful move to empower youth and drive social change, the Assam Rifles, in collaboration with ACTS Connect and the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Nagaland, launched the third edition of their flagship awareness campaign, “Breaking the Silence 3.0”, at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Kohima.
The event marked a renewed commitment to tackling critical social issues such as drug abuse, mental health stigma, gender-based violence, and the need for open dialogue among young people. Students, educators, local leaders, and officials gathered in large numbers, reflecting the growing momentum behind the initiative.
“Breaking the Silence 3.0” aims to inspire youth to speak up, take action, and become agents of change in their communities. Through interactive sessions, motivational talks, workshops, and cultural performances, the campaign creates safe spaces for young voices to be heard and supported.
Officials from Assam Rifles emphasized their ongoing dedication to not just safeguarding the region but also nurturing its future. ACTS Connect, known for its grassroots work in social empowerment, added value by bringing in experts and youth mentors to engage directly with students.
The Department of Social Welfare commended the initiative, highlighting the importance of collaboration between civil society, government, and security forces in building a resilient, aware, and inclusive Nagaland.
As “Breaking the Silence 3.0” unfolds across the state, it continues to echo a simple but powerful message: change begins when silence ends.
