Srinagar, Feb 14: A family from Rafiabad staged a protest outside Sub-District Hospital Sopore on Saturday, alleging lack of timely medical attention to a female patient whose condition reportedly deteriorated due to the absence of diagnostic facilities and proper treatment.
The protesters said Ruqia, a mother of two, developed complications but could not receive adequate care at the hospital owing to non availability of ultrasound services and essential medicines. They alleged that the delay in diagnosis and treatment led to her condition turning serious.
Family members demanded accountability from the hospital administration and sought immediate intervention from the concerned health authorities.
All India Medical Students Association Vice President Dr Mohammad Moomin Khan also raised concern over the matter, stating that urgent action from the Block Medical Officer Sopore was required. He termed the non-availability of USG facilities after 5 pm and the shortage of essential medicines unacceptable, adding that such gaps compromise patient care and safety.
He called for an immediate probe into the alleged lapses and corrective measures to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services at the facility
