Srinagar, Jan 27: Flight operations at Srinagar Airport were severely disrupted on Tuesday as continuous light snowfall and adverse weather conditions led to widespread cancellations, officials said.
Airport authorities reported snow accumulation on airside pavements since early morning, hampering safe aircraft movement. Teams from the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) were deployed to clear snow and restore operational safety.
Despite clearance efforts, officials confirmed that all IndiGo and Air India flights to and from Srinagar were cancelled due to poor en-route weather and operational constraints. Several other scheduled flights were also cancelled as conditions continued to deteriorate.
Official advisories indicated that the list of cancellations was updated repeatedly through the morning, with disruptions reported up to 0910 hours. Flights linking Srinagar with Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Amritsar and Chandigarh were affected.
Passengers have been advised to stay in touch with their respective airlines for updates, rescheduling and alternate arrangements, and not to proceed to the airport without confirmation.
Officials said flight operations are under continuous review and services will resume once weather conditions improve and runway safety is ensured.
Meanwhile, snowfall continued across Srinagar and other parts of the Kashmir Valley, disrupting both air and surface transport.
