
The Annual Varshik Abhishek of the sacred Sharda pratima at the Line of Control (LoC) Teetwal in Kashmir was solemnly conducted yesterday by priests from Sringeri Math. This marks the first major religious event at the LoC following Operation Sindoor.
A dedicated group of 50 pilgrims from Kalady, Kerala, arrived on bikes to participate in the auspicious ceremony. The rally was warmly welcomed by Ravinder Pandita, Chairman of the Save Sharda Committee Kashmir (Regd).
The local Army Deputy Commanding Officer and several committee members also attended the Abhishek, commemorating the second anniversary of the consecration of the revered Sharda idol.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravinder Pandita emphasized the need to promote religious and border tourism in the region. “The government should facilitate the process by starting an e-pass system for pilgrims,” he urged.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local community, who joined in large numbers for the Bhandara and Abhishek celebrations, showcasing unity, faith, and hope for a vibrant cultural revival at the border.
