Darjeeling, Dec 4: Under the aegis of Eastern Command, the 107 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) of 11 Gorkha Rifles successfully organized a Territorial Army (TA) Recruitment Rally in Darjeeling, West Bengal, from November 15 to 29, 2025. The rally aimed to provide the youth of the region with an opportunity to serve the nation while contributing to its security and development.
The recruitment drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from aspiring candidates, who underwent a series of physical, medical, and educational assessments designed to evaluate their suitability for service in the Territorial Army. The rigorous selection process ensures that only committed and capable individuals join the force, maintaining the high standards expected of the Gorkha Rifles and the Territorial Army.
Officials highlighted that the TA offers young citizens a unique chance to balance civilian careers with military training, instilling discipline, leadership, and patriotism.
