144 Bn CRPF celebrated its 21st raising day with great pomp and gaiety on 24/03/2023 at Battalion HQr located at Hotel Boulevard, Road, Srinagar. A number of sports activities and Cultural program were organized on the occasion of Battalion Raising day in which Officers, Subordinate officers and Jawans of the Battalion participated enthusiastically . On this occasion, a dinner (Bada Khana) was also organized in the evening as per the traditions of the Force in which Shri Mathew A. John, DIGP, South Range, CRPF, Srinagar was present as the Chief Guest.
This Battalion was raised on 24/03/2003 at Group Centre, CRPF, Bhopal. Apart from election duties in different parts of the country like Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, the Battalion has also discharged Law and order and CI Ops duties in Sensitive areas of Assam and Jammu and Kashmir . The Battalion moved from Assam to Srinagar (J&K) during June/ 2007 and continuing it service with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Besides its operational commitments, 144 Bn is also performing its responsibilities in public outreach. During current year this unit has organized different sports activities like cricket tournament, indoor games and singing/ painting competitions. 144 Bn has been awarded best Bn trophies twice by its Adm. Sector.
On the occasion Shri Mathew A John , DIG, Congratulated the all ranks of this unit and expressed his best wishes. Nadeem Ahmed Samdani, Commandant 144 Bn presented the report of the unit and thanked all the guests to grace the occasion.
