
India is celebrating ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ since 15th August, 2022 to Commemorate the 75 years of Indian Independence. As a culminating event of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign has been envisaged throughout the country. It is a tribute to the ‘Veers’ and ‘Veeranganas’ who have made supreme sacrifice for motherland. This campaign commenced on 9th August, 2023 and will conclude on 30th August, 2023.
To mark the commencement of campaign, 144 Bn CRPF conducted a programme at Govt. High School, Lal Bazar. On the occasion, a series of activities which include Essay writing competition and tree plantation were conducted. Students and Staff of GHS, Lal Bazar actively participated in these events. A five point pledge on the topic ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ was taken by one and all and soil of activity place was also collected which will be later carried to national capital as part of Amrit Kalash Yatra.
The programme was presided over by Sh. Nadeem Ahmad Samdani, Comdt. 144 Bn, CRPF alongwith Sh. Mashqoor Ahmad Zargar, SP Hazratbal and Principal, GHS Lal Bazar. Sh. Nadeem Ahmad Samdani, Comdt., in his address, expressed that it was a matter of pride that we all were celebrating ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ programme in Kashmir. Kashmir is a land of martyr where a large number of martyr have sacrificed their lives to protect country from enemy, intruders and invaders. He also stressed upon the need of national integrity and communal brotherhood on the occasion. Sh. Nadeem Ahmad Samdani, Comdt. also distributed prizes and certificates to the participants.
In the end, Sh. Ajay Kumar Verma, Second in Command 144 Bn expressed his gratitude towards the guests and participants. Programme concluded with the singing of National Anthem.
