
Everyday around 12000 people die due to the sheer lack of donated blood in India. The gap between collection and need of blood is around four million unit per year which is way short for the demand. Every year countries around the world celebrate “World Blood Donor Day” on 14th June. The event serves to raise awareness of the safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary donors for their life saving gifts of blood. To commemorate the blood Donor Day 2023. A Blood donation camp was organized by 144 Bn CRPF at UNPD Camp Lalbazar today in collaboration with SMHS Hospital, Srinagar. The camp was inaugurated by Sh. Nadeem Ahmad Samdani, Comdt.-144 Bn, CRPF. During his address on the occasion he expressed his gratitude towards the doctors and staff of SMHS Hospital for extending their support to make this event highly successful. He also thanked all the blood donors for their endeavor and spirit for the cause of humanity by donating their blood. A total of 60 officers & men from 144 Bn, CRPF contributed to the camp by donating blood.
Besides Sh. Nadeem Ahmad Samdani, Comdt-144 Bn, Sh. Mashqoor Ahmad Zargar, SP Hazarabal Zone, SHO Lalbazar and officers of 144 Bn CRPF were present on the occasion. The event culminated with the thanks extended by Sh. Ajay Kumar Verma, Second in command, 144 Bn CRPF in which he thanked all the guests, SMHS Hospital staff and blood donors for their graceful presence.
