Silchar, Aug 7: Assam Rifles under Spear Corps, in a joint operation with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), intercepted a major consignment of poppy seeds weighing 11,130 kg at Badarpur in Sribhumi district of Assam, officials said.

Acting on credible intelligence inputs, the joint team conducted the operation and intercepted the consignment, which was estimated to be worth approximately ₹1.65 crore.
The seizure represents a significant disruption to the suspected narcotics supply chain and highlights the importance of coordinated intelligence-sharing and enforcement operations in tackling the movement of prohibited substances and related contraband.
